The color of our eyes is a big part of your appearance. The eyes can tell a lot about how a person feels as well as the personality which was shown by one Swedish study. Several scientists at Orebro University in Sweden have conducted a study with 428 participants. Their goal was to determine the link between the participants’ eye color and their personalities.

The name of the study is Associations Between Iris Characteristics and Personality in Adulthood. It focused on the correlation between the iris characteristics and one’s personality. The study suggested that the eye color has a major impact on the personality traits in people. Keep reading to learn what your eye color says about you.

Black eyes

People with black eyes are usually mysterious and they are born leaders who tend to be more agreeable than other people. They are also very likely to be good at sports that require quick thinking and accuracy such as tennis. According to the study, the ability to think fast is because of the increased melanin in the iris which enables faster communication between the brain cells. Dark-eyed people also drink less alcohol than others.

Blue eyes

Blue eyes lack melanin and people who have them are very strong both physically and psychologically. A study from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine which examined 58 pregnant women has shown that women with light colored eyes are have higher pain tolerance during child birth compared to those with darker eyes.

The light-eyed women in the study also handled postpartum depression much better.

Grey eyes

This is a very rare eye color. If you have it, it means you have two opposite sides of your personality which you can balance very well. You can shift from angel to devil within seconds. Having this eye color also means you are a caring and affectionate person. You are not very open to new friendships.

Hazel eyes

Hazel eyes are combination of brown and green color. People who have them are very unique and their personalities can light up the room. They are also very independent, spontaneous and confident.

Brown eyes

Even though this is the most common eye color in the world, it is everything but ordinary. People with brown eyes are very loyal, confident, assertive, dominant and respectful. They also have trouble waking up in the morning because they have a poor sleep cycle compared to other people.

Green eyes

This is also very rare eye color which makes it very charming. People with green eyes are more agreeable and dominant and they also have very strong personalities. They have a creative side and can work very well under pressure.
